The history of the JSC "Promautomatica" starts in 1956 when our region faced the necessity to enhance its growing forces of production with new technical projects and developments. Furthermore  there was established Kemerovo division of the Research and Development Bureau №12 based on the Central Design Office, it was  placed on industrial site adjacent to new Chemical Complex.

        Together with development of the Ministry of  instrument-making, systems of automation and control in 1964 such independent organizations as the Kemerovo State Design Institute "Projectautomatica" based on the Research and Development Bureau №12 and the Specialized Assembly an Adjustment Bureau "Spetsautomatica" appeared in Kemerovo. In 1985 the Institute turns into the Research and Development Institute "Promautomatica", and in 1986 on the basis of this one, being a leading organization,  and the Topky Mechanical Plant there is established the Kemerovo Scientific Production Association "Promautomatica".

        This institute, together with the Novokuznetsk division, numbers more than 500 staffs and the plant includes more than 200 staffs. It is just this staff, their professional skills and high-quality modern equipment (the first up-to-date computing center in Kemerovo) that allowed solving quite difficult problems connected with automation in such industries as metallurgical and chemical ones, also in production of building materials and housing and communal services.

         By this time the organization has been renamed into the State Research and Development Institute "Promautomatica" and its plant has been called "Sibtenzopribor". Its prevailing activity was developing, designing and manufacturing new line of late-model weight measuring and dosing complexes of wide range and use resulted from projects of the specialists of the leading research institute and the current nomenclature of the Topky plant.

        Another obvious and significant achievement of  the Scientific Production Association "Promautomatica" of that time is concentration in its premises new generation of first-class specialists combined under the Engineering Center "ACI", who in quite a short time managed to produce a wide range of weight measuring complexes thus having got stable and competitive economy, so in this way they continued the undertaking.

        In 1991 while reorganizing national economy of  Russia (abolition of  the Ministry of  instrument-making, systems of automation and control, acquisition of possessory right, extensive economy collapse) the Scientific Production Association "Promautomatica" was eliminated and nowadays it exists in the form of the Joint Stock Company "Promautomatica" which now works under new corporation called the "Engineering center "ACI".
